Pre-Conference Mobile Forces Focus Day
The meeting will start with a focus day looking at logistics in the modern day, mobile force. With theatres of warfare rapidly changing and tensions rising in Eastern Europe, it is imperative that the military can maintain and supply highly mobile forces in a quick and efficient manner.
The pre-conference Mobile Forces focus day will be chaired by Major General (Retd) Ian Copeland, Former Director Joint Support Chain, British Army.
MAINTAINING AND SUPPLYING ACTIVE MOBILE FORCES
With a change in the operational theatre and with NATO currently preparing and equipping the VeryHigh Readiness Joint Task Force, it is imperative that the military supply chain be able to keep up and supply these rapid reaction forces while on the move. This session will focus on current policies, concepts and the implementation of training programmes designed to prepare support units for future missions.
MAINTAINING FUEL SUPPLY ON ACTIVE OPERATIONS
Future warfare is likely to be highly mobile and will require supporting infrastructure such as fuel to be able to keep up as armed forces conduct manoeuvres in hostile in environments. This section will be looking at the challenges surrounding fuel delivery to keep forces mobile.
MAINTAINING SYSTEMS AND PLATFORMS WHILE ON OPERATIONS
Military and civilian contractors managing the in-service support of land systems must be able to meet the demands of operational requirements. They must conduct maintenance, deliver replacement parts and restore capability anywhere in the world, often at short notice. Delegates will explore the challenges this brings and describe recent successful contracts from operations.
Serving military and government personnel receive free entry to all conference sessions, networking breaks and the exhibition room.
The Pre-Conference Mobile Forces Focus Day is followed by the main 2-day meeting.
